Tyler Lamont, Greenville, NC
Greenville, North Carolina's Tyler Lamont is this month's Young Racers' Club winner. So wish the 16-year-old a big old congratulations next time you see him at one of his three home tracks. That's right, Tyler counts Southern National Raceway Park, Dillon Motor Speedway, and Orange County Speedway as his home tracks.
He has been racing for 3 years, starting out in the Pure Stock Four-Cylinder Class at East Carolina Motor Speedway. He raced for 2 years in that class, picking up two wins and many Top 3 finishes in the process. "My Dad moved me up to the V-8 Street Stock Class at Southern National Raceway Park this past year," reports Tyler. There, he finished Sixth in points with two Second-place finishes and many more Top 5 finishes. Southern National is closed for 2009 so Tyler and his team will be racing at other tracks such as Dillon and Orange County but also at Coastal Plains Raceway Park in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He'll be running a Grand Stock which is basically an older Late Model chassis with a crate engine. On Tyler's entry to YRC he wrote "Wish me luck." Well, not only are we going to wish you luck, but we're also wishing you congratulations and sending you a $250 gift certificate courtesy of our friends at TCI Automotive, thanks to your being named YRC winner for the month of August.
