Racetrack preparation is an art and is somewhat dependent on the equipment used to groom the track as much as it is the technique. At Cherokee Speedway, there was less dust flying than we had seen at most dirt tracks due to the water truck design. It was built for crop spraying and had large-width Tundra tires on it which helped to prevent packing the track too tightly. This way, the moisture could be absorbed into the clay and the track stayed moist all throughout the events.
