To cut out all the boring stuff, you will probably want to edit your videos with video editing software. There are lots of options out there, including some that are free. This is Adobe Premiere Elements (not free), but they all look about the same. The camera stores video in the MP4 format which works with most systems. Premiere Elements requires the files be converted into another format first, which I did with a free piece of software called MPEG Streamclip (which can be downloaded online).
