As a concession to the added weight of its engine, Dodge was allowed more setback than the Chevrolets. Where Chevrolet engines are allowed to be placed no farther back than the first spark plug even with the upper right-side ball joint, Dodges are allowed to move the engine back until the front of the head is even with the ball joint.
