Over the past few years, serious racers have had a few trade shows they could attend to see the latest and greatest in racing and performance parts and technologies. For 2013, things changed a bit. In 2012, the announcement was made that SEMA had purchased both PRI and IMIS, merged the two shows (keeping the PRI name) and moved it back to Indianapolis from its previous home in sunny Florida.
On a selfish (but not important) note, we were sad to see the show leave Orlando, because it was about 45 minutes from Circle Track's headquarters. But the reality of the situation is the revamped PRI trade show was nothing short of spectacular! Yes, it was cold (single digit temps) and there was snow, but that didn't stop people from coming to Indy. In an effort to conserve some space, I am going to stop writing and let the parts on the next few pages speak for themselves. Here are our show favorites. Be sure to check out www.circletrack.com for extended coverage and all the parts we couldn't fit on these pages.

Bullet Connecting Rods
CP/Carrillo's new Bullet rods are made from the same 4330M material they make all of their rods from and are made on the same machines as their famous H-Beam rods. The company is using a near net forging to keep waste and cost down. The only as-forged part of the rod is the pocket and a small portion at the edge of the beam.
The rods currently will be available for Small-Block Chevy in a 6.000- and 6.125-inch in either a 2.000- or 2.100-inch crank journal. CP/Carrillo will also have them available in a 6.125-inch length for LS engines with a 2.100-inch crank journal. All of these will be set up for a 0.927-inch wristpin. These will employ a 1.600-inch UHL 7/16 WMC bolt for added cam clearance and strength.
The Bullet rod is designed for 750 hp and 8,500 rpm, making them a great choice for circle track engines with a smaller budget. For more information, visit www.cp-carrillo.com.
RFX Wireless Weighing Technology
A large part of Intercomp's PRI booth was set up to disply the company's line of billet scales. While these are impressive looking pieces, the technology that accompanies them takes it to a new level. Wireless communication makes scaling your race car simple and easy, without the clutter of wires.
Intercomp has taken its RFX technology further with the iRaceweigh Module. This module transmits all of your scale information to your iPad, iPod, or iPhone. The system and app (available on the iTunes App Store) allow you to view and save weight, as well as export the information to a spreadsheet for future analysis. The information is also encrypted, ensuring your scale information is secure. For more information, visit www.intercomp-racing.com or call 800/328-3336.

Rod End Supply
LXM/LXF Rod Ends
Quality rod ends can be the difference between winning and losing, and no one knows this better than Rod End Supply. The company has a wide range of rod ends for any form of racing and any budget. But when you want their best, nothing other that the LXM/LXF rod ends will do. The rod ends are constructed from C1045 mild steel, chrome plated, and utilize a proprietary self-lubricating, self-sealing Nylafiber matrix to complete the rod end. The ball is constructed from 52100 bearing steel, which is precision ground and heat treated for long life in harsh racing environments. The self-lubicating Nylafiber Matrix is injection molded, creating a perfect seal that does not require lubrication. For more information visit www.rodendsupply.com or call 800/284-2902.
With the growing popularity of crate engines more racers are turning to pump gas as their fuel of choice. But pump gas contains Ethanol and Ethanol significantly increases the risk of carburetor and fuel system corrosion. Ethanol is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture, which causes corrosion in the fuel system and inside the engine. High levels of Ethanol dilution in the motor oil can lead to increased moisture in the crankcase, thereby causing rust and other corrosion problems. Plus, Ethanol by itself is corrosive to components made of Aluminum and Zinc, like carburetors. Both of these problems are compounded by long periods of storage between uses.
Driven's Carb Defender Fuel Additive is specifically formulated to protect against Ethanol corrosion and induction deposits. Special corrosion inhibitors work to prevent expensive repairs and diminished performance caused by Ethanol-blended pump gasoline and the moisture it attracts. This additive controls combustion chamber residue, plus it cleans and protects surfaces of the fuel system and intake tract. The 8 oz. bottle of additive treats up to 25 gallons of Ethanol-blended gas. For more information call 866/611-1820 or visit www.drivenracingoil.com.
Ultra HP 4412
The Holley 4412 has long been the go-to for four-cylinder and V-8 racing where a two-barrel carb is mandated. Holley has recently given the 4412 a facelift and a bunch of new improvements, making it better than ever! The 500-cfm two-barrel now sports all-aluminum construction, which drops weight by 50-percent over its zinc counterpart. One of the biggest announcements at the PRI show was FAST's move into the ignition market. While specific part numbers and product details are yet to be released, we are told the company will offer a full line of ignition products to complement its line of fuel injection systems (FAST ignition systems will not be specific to its fuel injection systems). FAST is working jointly with Crane Ignition, which has long been known for its high-quality ignition systems. Though we don't have specifics just yet, we know FAST will have products designed especially for the circle track crowd. Look for more details soon at www.fuelairspark.com.
The new one-piece Dirt Late Model flywheel from Quarter Master is built to work with clutchless transmission bellhousings and is designed for ultimate strength, while maintaining a very low moment-of-inertia (MOI). Built specifically for operation in high-stress Dirt Late Model applications, this Quarter Master One-Piece Flywheel is engineered to be a performance upgrade over two-piece flywheel options for Chevy applications. Perfect for Bert/Brinn-style transmissions, the flywheel is built from 4140 chrome-moly steel, features added holes for strategic weight reduction, an integral 22-tooth pulley, and a replaceable 91-tooth ring gear. Extensive FEA analysis was used to develop the unique single-piece steel hub and flywheel design, which improves strength while maintaining lightweight and low MOI. Designed for two-piece rear main seal Chevy engines, the Quarter Master One Piece Flywheel installs easily and works seamlessly with Quarter Master Reverse Mount Starter Bellhousing Kits. In addition to its availability as a standalone piece, the flywheel is also included in the Quarter Master aluminum bellhousing kit (PN 130509124TM,) and magnesium bellhousing kit (PN 115509124TM.)
