Last month we spent some time upgrading the floor of our 28-foot enclosed race trailer with the help of Al’s Liner. This month we are back at it, but now, storage is the name of the game.
There are many options when it comes to storage inside your race trailer. You can do it on the cheap and use old kitchen cabinets, but A, it doesn’t look good, and B, who really wants kitchen cabinets in their race trailer? Not us! Not now, not never! When we took a real look at our storage needs, we wanted something that was lightweight, tough, and versatile, as well as good looking. Moduline Cabinets fit the bill perfectly.
If you are unfamiliar with Moduline Cabinets, the Brockton, Massachusetts-based company designs and manufactures modular aluminum cabinets and workbenches for shops, garages, and trailers. These high-quality lightweight aluminum cabinets are designed to not only look good, but survive in the harshest shop environment. These cabinets are so durable, the company backs them with a lifetime warranty, which is a huge testament to the high level of quality.
Moduline builds each set of cabinets as they are ordered. This gives the company the ability to offer an almost limitless array of cabinet sizes and configurations to fit any layout or dimension. For our trailer, we went with the Pro II cabinets with a seven-drawer tool chest, double door lower cabinets, aluminum work surface, and matching upper cabinets. The drawers are equipped with Quik Draw, a patent-pending single action latch system that keeps the drawers securely latched while in transit while using no additional drawer space. Moduline also offers a bunch of add-on pieces to go with its cabinets. We opted for the under mounted light sheilds, additional shelves, and drawr dividers. These add loads of utility and versatility for your storage needs. The cabinets are extremely solid, while surprisingly light. After all, what good is adding cabinets if they just add useless weight to your trailer?

There are six available colors to choose from, and Moduline can match any custom color, so matching your race team’s colors is easy. You can also have the cabinets wrapped with your car design and sponsor logos to take the inside of your trailer to the next level.
The installation of our cabinets took about a day. The ProII cabinets come pre-assembled and install with bolts and hand tools. If they were being installed in a garage or shop the install time would be dramatically cut down, but trailers move and flex while traveling, and because of this nothing is exactly square (at least in our case.)
