A typical left front shock graph will look something like this for bump fixture setups. The shock must control the spring rate of the bump device. Most experts put the useable spring rate at between 1,000 and 1,500 pounds per inch of bump spring rate. Therefore, the shock must control that stiffness. In this graph, we see 400 to 500 pounds at 3.0 inches per second of speed. That is the minimal amount of rebound rate you will need for those setups.
