10. Strickler’s crew always removes the brake pads before washing the car because excessive contact to water can sometimes loosen the bonding agent and affect pad performance. But while the pads are out, it is also a good time to give them a quick look-over. The stock GM calipers often used in Dirt Mod racing are prone to flexing under load. When that happens the result is uneven pad wear like you see here. When the friction material is this worn, it’s time to break out a new set of pads.
