5. You don’t need your own shock dyno to give your shocks a quick once-over. One simple test is to compress the shock by pressing it into the shop floor and then watch as the shock shaft extends back out. The movement should be smooth and steady both on compression and rebound. If the shock shaft it bent the movement will have a catch in it. While doing this you can also watch to make sure you don’t see any fluid leaking from the seal.
