AFCO Racing Products has introduced a new and improved spring slider for use with larger 5- to 511/42-inch inside diameter springs. This new design utilizes six sealed ball bearings that roll on a hex shaft, with the flat shaft sides providing greater contact area and yielding much less friction than other designs.
This simple, yet effective unit eliminates problems associated with sticking in the sliders caused by corrosion, dirt, and mud. Maintenance and cleaning is made much easier due to the open design. All parts are racer replaceable.
The slider will accept 11-, 13-, or 16-inch tall springs, has the standard AFCO adjuster threads of eight turns per inch, and can be retrofitted to any previously manufactured AFCO sliders.
A plastic cover is provided to protect the working unit and a floating wiper plate cleans off dirt so the slider will function well under all track conditions. The price is $149 for each of the sizes and $79.50 for the retrofit unit to update older AFCO style sliders.
