Honey Can I Have some of your nail polish?
I keep a bottle of nail polish in the garage for two things, can you guess? Number one, believe it or not, you can use it as a threadlock which I have done and it really does work. Number two, after tightening a screw or bolt put some colored nail polish around the head. After it dries if the nail polish bead is broken you will know someone tampered with it. Interestingly, it will also keep the screw from turning out of thread. I hope this comes in useful! It's cheaper than threadlock and if you get bored . . . hey, nice nails!
Sprung Trunk Lid
I have so many old heavy-duty springs laying around and I found a use for them. I cut one end off of where the bends are and welded a nut to the other end. Then I took another nut and welded it to the inside body of the trunk and one to the trunk lid. Now I don't have to use a wooden stick to hold the trunk up. The spring-nut combination is very secure.
