SBC Wire Routing
Here's a really neat way to route the spark plug wires on a small-block Chevy. Mount the distributor so No. 1 and No. 2 are closest to the back of the block and run the wires under the headers without any of them coming off the front of the distributor or crossing over the top. As you can see, this arrangement is symmetrical and best of all it also works with the No. 4-No. 7 firing order swap.

This one is very simple, but a tremendous help and time saver. Whenever I have trouble dismounting my tires, a good trick I discovered is to remove the valve stem valve completely, grab a length of rubber hose, hook it up to the manifold vacuum on your running tow vehicle and slide the other end over the valve stem. The vacuum is a great help to break those stubborn beads and allows you to quickly do it while at the track. This free source of vacuum might even have some other uses as well.
