Take two old T-shirts and cut seven pieces of cloth to make the pockets according to the drawing on the right. The pocket size will be just a little bigger than the Kool packs you purchase. Sew on the pockets as shown in the illustration. Purchase seven Kool medical gel packets, which are used for injuries like a sprained ankle. They come in different sizes, but you'll need the thin ones. The gel packets freeze and stay cool for hours. I freeze them overnight and put them on ice before the race. Be careful to try it first in practice-sometimes they get too cold. Add a blower to your helmet and you have it made in the shade in hot weather!
It adds a little left side weight-maybe 4 pounds-and is a little bulky at first, so you may have to readjust your shoulder harness a bit. But once you get used to it, it's really "Kool" for the right price!!

When performing maintenance on your racecar's rear end, pull out the axles and paint a white line down the center of them. Then, the next time you do some maintenance, check the white line and see if it's twisted. If it is, throw out the axles and replace them.
