Here is my tech tip-you can use a Country Crock 3 pound butter dish for a carburetor cover. It works well on Holleys, Quadrajets, Demons, 2bbl Motorcrafts, and more. It's a very nice fit on these carburetors. I know the cost for a carb cover from a mail order house is only about $6.00 plus shipping, but hey, every little bit helps.

I run a Dirt Late Model, and one Saturday night the bumper came off of the car in front of me. Needless to say I had no where to go and ran it over. When I hit it, it came through the wall panel of the cockpit and hit me in the foot. While I didn't get hurt, I thought afterward, "Oh man that had the potential to leave a mark." So the next week, we attached a piece of diamond plate to the backside of where the pedals are mounted to add some protection in case it happens again.
