The bumper mount is welded to the chassis and then to the bumper. Sleepy used a shortened Toyota 4Runner bumper that, once mounted, was 18 inches in front of the radiator.

The finished rear view shows the working trunk lid. IMCA prohibits gutting the trunk lid. The hinges were kept operational for convenience. The transmission oil cooler is mounted over a hole in the trunk floor.

The hood is located by two pins, and is captured at the rear fitting between two plates welded to the firewall. A seatbelt is attached to the bar in front of the radiator and extends through the hose piece. The corresponding buckle is bolted to the hood.
