Although this car is specific in design to a distinct region of racing, you should follow the same process when preparing, setting up, and racing your own stock car, staying within the rules specific to your form of racing. It is truly the process that counts.
Stay tuned to our adventures as we next reassemble the body and mount a new front clip on our project car. We will detail every step of the process on our way to final completion.
We decided to replace the original front clip so that we could produce our own design that would be adjustable for the vastly different types of racetracks. From the lower-banked Caraway Raceway to the very high-banked Bristol Motor Speedway, the frontend geometry will need to be changed to accommodate every situation, from the high body roll on the low banking to the high mechanical downforce and minimal body roll we will experience at Bristol.
The old paint and rust needed to be removed from the entire chassis in preparation for repainting. In the process, we inspected all of the welds to insure our race car was solid and without structural flaws. To go fast, we need the chassis to be strong and flex free.
