Meet the behind-the-scenes guys who make it all happen
Editor's Note: This is a continuing feature highlighting some of the faces behind the race cars and drivers we all know. These Circle Track Hero Maker sports cards are the kinds of trading cards we'd like to collect.
* Early Years: Graduated high School in 1992. Worked on father's Winston West racing team.
* Moved to Charlotte in 1997 to work With T&L Engines, where he built race motors.
* Switched to Joe Gibbs Racing and serves as parts prep specialist in the shop and catch-can man at the track.
"The most important thing to me so far was getting the call to come to Charlotte in 1997 from Michael Hawkins. It was the beginning of a dream. I will always remember and cherish that day, and I won't forget how I got here."
* Early Years: After high school, went on to college at the University of Southern Colorado. Graduated in 1979 with a degree in civil engineering.
* Worked with a drag-race team in Amarillo, Texas, and later moved to North Carolina.
* Worked with Richard Jackson and driver Rick Mast until the team sold then went to work with Ricky Rudd in 1996.
"The most memorable time of my career was when Ricky won the Brickyard 400 in 1996. That was an unbelievable day. That was also the year in which we won at Dover as well. I guess that year will always be special to me."
* Early Years: During high school, was involved in NHRA drag racing (1971-74).
* Later got involved in IMSA racing (1975-89), first as crew chief, then as co-owner.
* Moved to Charlotte in 1997 to work with Brett Bodine as a machinist.
"My most memorable times in racing were the years that I was crew chief at the 24 Hours of Daytona, from 1989 through 1994. I worked with European racers, and it provided a very broad base of learning for me in racing."
