TriStar Motorsports welcomes back Ingersoll Rand as a sponsor for the second consecutive year in the NASCAR Nationwide Series season. A global leader when it comes to air compressors, tools, fluid management and material handling equipment, Ingersoll Rand will be the associate sponsor on all of the Toyota Camry’s during the 33 races of the Nationwide Series schedule. Running five primary races with the No. 44 TriStar Motorsports Camry, Ingersoll Rand will run its first race on March 1st, 2014 at Phoenix International Raceway.
A regular in the ARCA Racing Series, Will Kimmel will man the cockpit of the No. 44 Ingersoll Rand Toyota Camry during the five primary races. Nephew of 10-time ARCA Racing Series Champion Frank Kimmel, Will Kimmel races for his family-owned team Kimmel Racing, which scored seven top five and 19 top-10 finishes throughout six years in the ARCA Racing Series. With this being Kimmel’s second Nationwide Series start, it is his first in Phoenix at the 1.5-mile track.
"We look forward to renewing our partnership with TriStar Motorsports as they take their program to the next level," said John Evans, President of Power Tools at Ingersoll Rand. "TriStar allows us the opportunity to support rookie drivers and provide them with performance tools that can help them win both on and off the track. We were happy with our partnership last year and look forward to growing our programs together this year."
"To say I'm excited is an understatement," exclaimed Kimmel. "I greatly appreciate the opportunity Ingersoll Rand and TriStar Motorsports have presented to me. I look forward to continuing the Kimmel family impression in racing, now in the NASCAR community.
TriStar Motorsports owner Mark Smith said, "I greatly appreciate Ingersoll Rand coming back on board this year. I can attest to the impressive quality of their tools, I use them both in our race shop and at Pro Motor Engines. Ingersoll Rand, as an organization, has been great to work with and I look forward to this season's partnership." Smith continued, "I also admire how Ingersoll Rand builds relationships with rookie drivers and help give them an opportunity of a life time. I am honored TriStar Motorsports can be a part of that."
Soon after Kimmel finishes his race in Phoenix, two weeks later he will set sail on Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee with the remaining of Kimmel’s Nationwide Series starts still to be determined at a later date.
