Finish Line Racing School also offers Race Adventure programs for corporate incentives and private lessons for serious racers.
Most of the Finish Line Schools are offered at New Smyrna Speedway, home of the World Series of Asphalt Racing. Since the track is very busy during the Speedweeks, classes are offered January 31-February 3. If you stay in Florida after Speedweeks, Finish Line has scheduled classes for February 24-27.
Complete details about Finish Line Racing School can be found by calling 800-WIN-RACE or visiting www.finishlineracing.com.
In central Florida, USA Interna- tional Speedway serves as the Sunshine State base for the Drivetech Racing School. Drivetech will be offering expanded class dates in February to accommodate the Florida visitors. Programs range from the 20-minute Taste of Speed to full-fledged Championship Adventures and ride-along programs for those who don't want to drive. Drivetech programs allow on-track passing and feature time without a pace car. The '04 schedule includes a variety of programs for February 10-14.
The Florida location is one of several Drivetech outlets for aspiring racers. Information about Drivetech can be found at www.drivetech.com or by calling 800/678-8864.
The Beach Daytona is known around the world for its high-quality beach area. Once the site of racing activity, there's now a speed limit in the areas where autos are allowed to roam. It's just as well since the high speed is not conducive to the gorgeous scenery you can witness today.
The beach is governed and maintained by Volusia County while the adjoining businesses fall into the Daytona Beach jurisdiction. Beach driving is limited to 10 mph in certain areas. Natural preserve areas and the traffic-free zone near the pier are off limits for vehicles. There is a small charge for vehicle admission to the beach, generally good for all-day access. The beach is closed to vehicles at night and during high tides.
Daytona USA One of the most popular year-round attractions is the Daytona USA exhibit at the track itself. Activities include hands-on simulation experiences and video exhibits. The sport's history is chronicled with up-to-date information, keeping the enthusiast well versed. Hours of operation are seasonal.
Have Fun There is no shortage of fun places to go when visiting Speedweeks. There are so many, you'll be planning your next visit before you leave. Remember, they race at Daytona in July, too.
