As you saw in our last issue, we had many designs from which to choose. What we landed on was a hybrid of those designs-and here it is!
The final graphic package for our Tough Tow Truck has been applied, and as you can see, it is quite an eye-catcher. This great race look is the result of a lot of hard work and creative time on the part of Chad Martin, Daniel Barnes, Jeff Owens, and Tony Johnson of the Decal Source in Greensboro, North Carolina. Not only did they put a dazzling design on our truck, but they also gave it a ready-to-race look.
The Race-Look DebutOur Tough Tow Truck made its graphic debut in Indianapolis for an action-packed week of showing it off. It began with a visit to the RCA Dome in Indy for a fantastic Ford Fan Appreciation Day. Fans and Ford officials alike received the truck with great enthusiasm. Some Ford luminaries, such as Dale Jarrett, Jeremy Mayfield, Ricky Rudd, and Robert Pressley were on hand, but our glittering gem of a truck stole the show.
Next, our truck made a visit to Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP), where it spent two days at a Craftsman Truck and a Busch Grand National race. The truck functioned like a magnet, drawing hundreds to see it up close. Our mighty truck was a hit at IRP.
The grand finale of or Indy week came at the venerable Indianapolis Speedway for the NASCAR Winston Cup Brickyard 400 race. As you would expect, the truck was the source of attention to thousands who saw it. Many of our readers who have kept up with our truck in the pages of Circle Track and Stock Car Racing magazines stopped by to see it.
Coming NextAs the evolution of this F-150 SuperCrew truck continues, the next addition will be some racy-looking accessories and special bed treatments that promise to make our Tough Tow Truck a racer and race fan's dream come true.
