The second station is the B.S. Factor, where "judges" complete with black robes and white wigs make sure you haven't spent more than $500 on your car (not including safety equipment). Even though we got our car free, we got dinged hard for the VTEC motor under the hood. The judges are less concerned with what you paid for your car than what the street value is, and accordingly, they docked us with a 75-lap penalty.

Because just about everything at a 24 Hours of LeMons event has a tongue-in-cheek element to it, the B.S. judges not only accept bribes, they encourage them. But we suspect our fiver didn't get us much beyond this cool stencil.

Although the prize for winning the race is $1,500 in nickels, one of the more coveted prizes is the People's Choice award. This usually goes to a team that has a pretty original theme. We went for "Wannabe NASCAR Cup team" but there were some really good ones out there like this P.O.S. delivery car.
