This month's Picture This was captured on film by one of Circle Track's photographers, Nigel Kinrade, at the Martinsville race in October. The photos are the result of a day of bumping and grinding among the race cars, but this particular incident was due to bumping and grinding between the #20 and #28 cars of Tony Stewart and Kenny Irwin.
As the #20 car came to rest after its confrontation with the wall, its driver, Mr. Stewart, took a stroll on the track and appeared to be upset and wanted to speak with the driver of car #28, Mr. Irwin, as he passed by. Mr. Irwin was, of course, upset as well, but continued on his way. Mr. Stewart's day was shot.
As the saying goes, "That's racin'," but for us fans, it's better to use another saying--"That's entertainment."
