2. The polished crank is from Crower. This Crower design uses a larger snout to prevent cracking in that area. Long added a good bit of Mallory metal (you
can see the round slugs in the top counterweight) in order to be able to turn the counterweights even smaller. Balancing a crank in this manner can be a bit tricky because Long refuses to drill lightening holes in the ends of the counterweights because they can cause extra windage.
