Now we'll discuss how to properly attach a fitting onto a stainless steel-braided line.

First you need to wrap the hose tightly with some sort of tape and use either a fine-tooth hacksaw or cutting saw to cut the line to the proper length.

Make certain after you cut...

Make certain after you cut the hose that you pull off the tape. Don't leave the tape on while the fitting is being assembled, it could lead to the fitting blowing off while under pressure.

Press the hose into the socket...

Press the hose into the socket of the fitting to the depth that is marked on the outside of the socket. It should be just back of the threads that are inside the socket.

Must do! Mark the hose with a permanent marker so that when you're inspecting the hose and fitting you can very easily see if the hose has started to back itself off of the fitting socket.

After you apply some antiseize...

After you apply some antiseize to the fittings threads, take the fitting and put it in a vise, and thread the socket onto the fitting. Thread it with your hand until you're certain that the threads have lined up properly and you have not cross-threaded the fitting.

Using the set of line wrenches...

Using the set of line wrenches we previously mentioned, tighten up the socket to the fitting. Get the socket as close to the fitting as you can.

The finished product. Now that you have the fitting attached to the hose, double check the mark you made on the hose to ensure that the socket has not started to come off the hose.
