When using aftermarket head bolts or fasteners, follow the engine manufacturer's recommendations for torquing sequence, but not the torque values. ARP, for example, provides specific torque recommendations that are specific to an ARP bolt lubricated with ARP moly-lube. This ensures more accurate preload on all the fasteners.
