Make sure your ignition is keeping up with your engine's power needs. The more rpm you run, the less dwell time the ignition has to recharge, and the more stress you put on the system. Stock HEI ignitions are notorious for this, causing an engine to "lay down" halfway down the straights. If you are having this problem, look to upgrade to a racing unit. View Related Article
