The jam nut for the thrust block will get adjusted once the whole rearend is in place. The thrust block works by putting tension against the backside of the ring gear, keeping it in place. To adjust it, tighten it down until the block touches the backside of the ring gear, then back off one quarter turn and lock down the jam nut to the housing. Everything is held in place.
