Rearend Gear Swap - Changing Gears

 Do not install both of the...  Do not install both of the axle covers at this point; leave one off.  Jack the car back up and remove...  Jack the car back up and remove the jackstand from under the chassis and one from the rearend housing. Then, leaving one jackstand in place, lower the car. This will leave the rearend at an angle and facilitate refilling the rearend with gear oil.  Remove the axle from the housing,...  Remove the axle from the housing, and using a funnel with a long thin spout, simply refill the rearend through the axletube.  Once the oil is filled......  Once the oil is filled...  ...reinstall the axle and...  ...reinstall the axle and install the cover plate.  Jack the car up again, remove...  Jack the car up again, remove the remaining jackstand, lower the car, and finally check for any leaks. It is just that simple-the whole process was accomplished in less than 20 minutes.  All that is left to do is...  All that is left to do is load the car on the trailer and head to the track.
