We all know that as air heats up, it also expands. This can create a problem with your race car's tires. As the tires heat up, the air pressure rises, changing the spring rate of the tire as well as the way the car "sticks" to the track. Longacre's TireliefsTM eliminate this problem by releasing unwanted air and keeping your tires at an even pressure throughout the entire race. This is accomplished with a valve, similar to a common check-valve, which can be set to a specified air pressure. The valve will automatically release air when it rises above that set pressure.

Installing the Tireliefs is as simple as drilling a hole in the rim. Once the hole is drilled, you have a choice of either tapping the hole or using a locking nut on the inside of the rim. Adjusting the Tireliefs to achieve the desired amount of air pressure in your tires is accomplished by loosening the knurled adjusting cap. When air starts to escape, tighten the jam nut to lock it in position. To increase the desired amount of pressure, simply tighten the adjusting knob. To reduce it, loosen the knob. It's that easy. This kit also includes a setting tool so you can preset your Tireliefs before you install them in the wheels. The setting tool uses your air compressor to simulate tire pressure so you can accurately set the valves.

The Tirelief Kit comes complete with six Tirelief valves, 12 wheel adapters, one setting tool and one inflation adapter. This all comes in a plastic carrying case. MSRP: $229.95.
